Deep Sea Fishing

When the High School boys were on their trip for Spring Break they got to go deep sea fishing. I made Brent take my old camera for pictures.

Only 1 of the kids caught a fish. Oh well.

This week has flown by. Colton has had baseball games every night except for Wednesday. They have been away games so we haven't gone. Next week there will be some home games.

Hannah's softball games will start in 3 weeks, out of town for all of them. Yikes!!!! She has been having fun at practice. She has been playing 2nd base and catcher. Not sure what position she'll end up being. Her Dad doesn't want her catching because he doesn't want her to get hit by a bat. And as accident prone she is, she will get hit :)

Spring Break in Texas 2010 Edition

We are in Texas for Spring Break. Colton's baseball team came down to Galveston for a little get away and to play ball. Brent and my Dad went on down to Galveston after dropping Hannah and I at his sister's house in Seabrook. It's been nice to just get away from the same old same old.

P.S. We are having way to much fun with the Mac photobooth :)

Put Me In Coach.........

More baseball pictures. This time at bat. They won the first game but lost the second game. They need to get out of that pattern.

Next game is Thursday so hopefully I can get some of Colton on base. One thing about baseball pictures is they all start looking alike in no time at all :)

Back In The Family ~ '58 Chevy

Dad and Brent went over to pickup Dad's old truck/new truck. Old being he had it back in the day; the color was pink. Yes pink. I can remember all 5 of us riding in it; that was obviously before seat belt laws.

He took me for a ride yesterday after lunch. It even smelled the same to me. I remember smells for some reason.

So a little back story. Probably around 15 years ago or longer, my Dad donated this pickup to his brother Danny. Danny was an instructor at the votech. He/his students worked the thing over and turned it into a beauty. Danny passed away and his wife had the truck and then she gave it to my cousin John. John later sold it. Around a month ago I was talking to a friend telling her about this truck and how I wanted to go over and take pictures of the kids with the truck. At that time I didn't know John had sold it. So I was asking Dad about it and he told me John didn't have it but the guy who did have it had it for sale about a year ago. I told Dad he should buy it. I really though it would have been sold already. I didn't think about again. So last Saturday I got a call from my sister and she told me that Dad bought the truck back. I was floored. I couldn't believe it. Shelly said it was meant to be back in the family. Funny how things come full circle :)

P.S. Colton's game was cancelled yesterday after I had already taken him in for the game (insert eye roll here). The other team didn't have enough players. I am still wondering why it took them until the morning of the game to realize they didn't have enough players. So next game is Monday if it doesn't get rained out.

Baseball!!!

Yea for baseball season. I used my zoom lens without a tripod and didn't get very many clear pictures. Note to self ~ stick the tripod in the back of my SUV. I need a rolling cart just to get all of my gear from the parking lot to the field.

Played in Photoshop again. It's addicting.

Colton has another game tomorrow afternoon and it's suppose to be in the upper 60s. Yesssssss!!!!!! Oh they won the first game but lost the 2nd game. Colton played the 2nd game, he played good; walked and then a base hit.

Digital Page

So I got a new laptop from Brent for Christmas. I've had photoshop for a while now but really hadn't dove into the nitty gritty of it until now. I've taken some free classes online for some basic stuff and then checking out youtube tutorials; that has been really helpful. I like the idea of digital scrapbooking because I can do it "on the go" or while waiting on kids at their various activities. Also there is so many "freebies" online that I can download.

This is very very did I mention very basic. I'm still wrapping my head around the concept of layering elements yada yada yada. I know that practice makes perfect so I'm getting excited about doing more.

Colton's first game is tonight. I'm ready for the fresh air and watching the boys play. He will play the 2nd games since he is a freshman so we'll probably have some late nights for the next 2 months. Good times!!!!!
